Accelerating Structure-Based Drug Discovery with Boltz2
The implementation of Boltz2 technology speeds up the process of drug discovery through structure-based methods. Helix Biostructures implements the AI-powered cryo-EM data processing tool Boltz2 as a new structural biology workflow component. The Boltz2 system uses artificial intelligence to perform fast automated protein structure reconstruction from cryo-EM data which shortens the time needed to obtain structural information from samples. The pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries benefit greatly from this innovation because they need fast and precise early-stage drug discovery processes. The implementation of Boltz2 technology enables our partners to identify binding pockets faster while optimizing lead compounds and making better decisions which results in faster "gene to structure" transitions.

Surajit Banerjee, Ph.D., Head of Business Development
Helix is excited to welcome Dr. Surajit Banerjee as our new Head of Business Development! Surajit brings over two decades of scientific and business development experience, most recently leading cryo-EM initiatives at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He previously served as Assistant Director of the cryo-EM Facility at Columbia University and as a Staff Scientist at NE-CAT, contributing to numerous high-impact publications in Nature, Science, and Cell. With deep expertise in cryo-EM, crystallography, and structural biology, Surajit is uniquely positioned to strengthen Helix’s partnerships and accelerate growth across our service lines.

Helix Biostructures hosted Purdue Summer Science Program!
This June, Helix BioStructures had the pleasure of hosting over 40 high school students from around the world as part of Purdue University’s Summer Science Program. During their visit, we introduced them to the exciting world of structural biology, shared how Helix supports drug discovery through our scientific services and gave them a behind-the-scenes tour of our lab facilities. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with curiosity, great questions, and a glimpse into the future of scientific innovation.

Crystal Gryphon
The Crystal Gryphon can set up sitting drop, hanging drop, and microbatch plates with volumes down to 50 nL. The system consists of a 96 channel syringe head for dispensing buffer solutions and a non-contact protein dispenser. The system comes complete with a computer and easy to use drag and drop software. By combining a 96 channel head with a single channel protein dispense head, a 96 well plate can be set up and sealed in less than 1 minute. This assures evaporation will not affect your assays. An optional 24 channel head is available for setting up optimization plates. With the 24 head and the INTELLI-PLATE® 24-4, you can set up 4 optimization assays with each buffer solution.
